You can buy Kerala upperi or Kerala style plantain chips online for Onam festival. No Onam feast or sadhya is complete without kerala upperi or plantain chips. Kerala style plantain chips popularly known as upperi has a very crunchy texture along with being crispy and salty.
You can make the chips at home too if you can get the plantains that are at the right stage of ripening, actually just before ripening. Kerala style plantain chips are not supposed to be sweet ( although you can also find sweeter versions made from ripe plantains).
As I mentioned above they are crispy, crunchy and salty. Traditionally made with coconut oil, these chips have a heavenly flavor.
